Rebuilt head and 2001 corolla is using oil

Any thoughts or input is appreciated. It doesn't smoke and is not leaking. I am using Castrol semi synthetic. 250 niles and almost 2 quarts of oil.

I feel your pain, I have not had this issue directly but helped a couple of friends with this issue. The most common culprit for oil consumption in these engines is piston rings, they become gunked up and stick over time. The later 1zzfe engines have revised pistons and rings to remedy this issue. I have talked my friend into replacing his long block engine with an 05 or later model year. Hope this helps.

Was the head rebuilt to fix a pre-existing oil burning issue or did the problem start after you installed the rebuilt head?

most likely oil leakage is the piston rings... if it was not using oil before, you may have an issue with the valve guides, and you may be getting seepage there.
