Car Acceleration Problem

I been having this problem for a few month now.

It just starting so...

Everytime I start up my car and let it run for a few minutes to heat the engine and put into Reverse.

Put it into Drive and accelerate on the gas pedal...i can feel a bit of shaking and loss in power in forward motion.

This happen when i press on the gas pedal to give it a bit of gas into Drive gear.

A few days ago, I did this and push the gas pedal down half way while into drive and I feel the shaking of loss of power and my car just stop. Engine die and stall.

I switch into park and restart it and it star again but couldn't go because I push again on the gas pedal and feel that weird shaking in front and under the car. ...it die again.

Third time, it work and I park on my neighbor yard and run it for a few mintue and drove like there was no problem.

I assume there was maybe water in the gas line or something. I have use two bottle of HEET two times in the months or so. This seems to help the car drive forward when into drive. I read that HEET helps clean the fuel injector too..maybe this?

I did a research on the problem and some say it might be the Fuel Filter clogging up. As when in dirve and giving it a bit of gas, it feel like the car isn't getting gas into the engine and seem to be choking.

Haven't change it for very long time...maybe this is the problem? Shine some light to a helpless guy. Cost of repairng it?

I have taken it to a local service shop...not too knowledgeable but good on repair if you need it replace.

I told them about my problem and the mechincal ask some of his friend and they told him it might be the pressure gas something.

Apprently I can't replace the fuel filter on my 99 corolla as he stated "its the whole thing that is part of the fuel filter and you will have to replace the whole thing to replace it".

Say it was going to cost 600 dollors plus larbo of 2 hour. Better buy a new car then fix it ..I was told.

At the moment, I am low on cash as I spned alot to replace my 4 struts this year.

I guess im done fixing it for now until its done for.

Hello asiandude,
My 2000 Corolla VE has had the same problem last year, my mechanic discovered a faulty gas pump ''RELAY'', he replaced it and problem solved since then...

Good luck!
