transmission ID help please...

can someone tell how to identify whether you have the three speed auto or the four speed?

are there vin or tranny numbers?

I do know that my car will "shift up" four times from a stop under normal driving situations, so I assume four speed or is it a three speed with an over drive?

the main reason I am asking if for tranny filter/gasket changes and because there are different motor transmission mount set ups for either 3 speed or four speed. I think I need to change a couple mounts.

I think how to identify transmissions have been covered in the FAQ?

Vehicle certification label (C/TR)
Overdrive button on shifter
Number of electrical connectors plugged into transmission

So respectively:
4-speed: TR=A245E,button on shifter,3 plugs to trans
3-speed: TR=A131L,no button on shifter, 2 plugs to trans
