looked it up for you. evaporative emission control system vent control circuit malfunction.

i think that may be the code for charcoal canister, but i could be wrong? i may have had that code on my old 99 corolla before i got rid of it. i know i had something wrong with the canister. it's just emissions i don't think it's a problem. the dealership will tell you it's a problem, because they want your money, and environmentalists will tell you it's a problem, because you're polluting, and also the state might make you have emissions testing, and you won't pass, but nothing detrimental i don't think. i sold my 99 before i got the 04 xb to a guy who is actually a toyota tech. he was buying it for his daughter, and i had replaced the o2 sensors after years of being bad just to get the light off, and that was another code on there, and i told him about the canister, and he said it was $300/$400 bucks, and he could get it from where he works, and wasn't gonna worry about it until next year when emissions are up again. i ''passed'' emissions through a guy i know. hope no epa jerk offs see that!

anyway not sure if it's the canister. maybe my bump will help out. someone else could answer!

I looked outside of this forum. It seems like there's a major lack of contribution here.

Anyway, I read that it's best to start out by replacing the gas-cap, and hope that it's that, which it was.

gas cap was $7 at walmart. fixed.
