2001 Corolla sluggish when taking off

My '01 is very hesitant and sluggish when I take off. The check engine light is on, and I had it ran at a shop. From what I can remember, they said it could be the O2 sensor. I replaced the front sensor, and CEL was off for 42 miles. Of course, it came back on, and the car is doing the same thing.

It seems like it's only shortly after the car is started. Once it is warmed up and higher speeds, it runs fine. I understand it could be a number of things, but any insight would be much appreciated.

I'd try new spark plugs and a new air filter.

Is it a bumpy take off? Mine does exactly the same thing. Its sluggish, sort of bumpy when it takes off. Had it run at a shop, and they said I need new wires and spark plugs.

Nothing about an O2 sensor for me. I suggest you get your car checked at least 3 different locations. They could have been trying to con you. But If anything, try replacing the spark plugs, wires, and possibly a new air filter.

I like to update my post, it turns out it was indeed the spark plugs and wire. 70 dollars, thats with the anti-seize thrown in there. yeesh! I suggest you shop online. brick and motor stores rip the consumer off! but if something you need immediately changed, like in my case, get to an auto part store asap.

I recommend amazon.com for car parts
