Very strange 0440,0441,0446 code symptom.....

Hi I'm new here. I have a 2000corolla automatic. For the last year, I had a 440 and 441 code. I would reset it and within 10 miles or so the check engine light would come back on. I reset it, passed the emissions test, and the light came on after I left. From what I have read here it looks like it my be the switch/valve on the charcoal cannister. My wife and I left for a three hour trip. I'm doing about 73-74 and the engine quits. No stumbling, no sputter, no coughing, it just stops. I pull off and try to restart right away. Car won't start. Let it sit about 30 seconds and it fires right up. Runs perfect. No check engine light. Does the same thing about every half hour, running at those speeds. We slow down to 60-63 and drive the remaining two hours home with no problem. It happens again yesterday when we tried to use it. Today, I loosen the gas cap, drive about an hour with no problem, and no check engine light. I know I need to replace that valve, could that be what's killing the motor as well? (negative pressure switch tripping somewhere?
Regards, Jim

Maybe somethings wrong with the gas cap. I'd replace it and take it from there.

Thanks Mate! I opened it with a different browser. That is some very helpful information. However, I can't tell if the malfunction in this evap system would kill the engine?
