Acceleration Lag

Last night I disconnected and reconnected my battery to clean the terminals. Today I noticed a major lag in power when accelerating. My check engine light has been on for some time now. I can't recall the code, but it was a possible issue with the MAF senor.

I have noticed a similar lag during hot/humid weather that I attibuted to the MAF. In the past cleaning the MAF temporarily took care of the symptoms.

This current power lag is much more noticible. I almost feel like the engine is going to stall as I run through the gears to accelerate.

Any ideas for a cause/soloution?

Disconnecting the battery resets the ECM and clears the CEL code temporarily. Will be fine after 60 miles/tomorrow after recalibration (along with the return of the CEL).

Even if you disconnect the battery. The engine shouldn't run bad. It will take time to run the monitors however, it won't cause drive ability issues. It could be many things. From a bad MAF sensor to a clogged catalytic converter. If the problem started after you cleaned your MAFs. then there is a good possibility that you damaged the sensor while cleaning it.
