New Tom's wheels

Hello,

I just purchased some rare brand new in box genuine made in Japan 16x7" Tom's NA-R in 4x100 pcd for my Corolla. Any one else have these? maybe they are common?

Lol wut?

No but seriously, I only ever saw them on one car thus far here in Canada. It was a show car though. I saw them when I was visiting family in the Philippines, on a few Corolla's actually. But other than that no, I don't think they are common at all. Good purchase.

Fender mirrors are part of the JDM craze - most commonly seen on older Datsuns, but seen one pretty much any older JDM vehicles.

Yeah, not a big fan of them. You need to bump up the size of them to get the same magnification/path length of the door mounted variants. No real advantage in blind spot, as the car's body is still in the way, regardless if they are on the door or on the fender.

To the OP - if they were my wheels, I'd personally not use they in the wintertime. Here in the states, Tom's wheels are pretty rare/costly to ship in - assuming you found a set to be shipped. Not sure how they treat the roads up there, but you could definitely run the risk of stone chips and other road debris damage. But it is your car and wheels - whatever works for you.

He lives in Canada. IIRC Some parts of Canada mandate winter tires after a certain date or you get a ticket. that right there says alot about their winters. i know i wouldnt use such a rare set of wheels in the winter. but to each their own.

This is true, where I live at least. Though it is not really enforced all that much.

But no if I was him and I had those rims I would definitely switch up to my steelies for the winter, as most everybody does here.
