Post Po770- Toyota Corolla 2002 117K miles

I have Toyota Corolla 2002 117K miles on it. While driving from Boston to NJ (continuous 3-4 hrs @ 75mph) got CEL and code was po770. Then I erased the code and drove around 155miles (mostly <55 mph) CEL did not come back. Do I need to worry about it or it was a temporary computer signal malfunction? Do I need to change tranny?

Transmission fluid has never been changed.

Tranny fluid should have been changed every 30k. Must be totally brown fluid. You can do it from the drain bolt its not hard. Drain once, drain again in a few months. Hopefully that will do it, and you will get lucky. You will need to replace the bolt washer, which requires a trip to the dealer. While your there, may as well get the fluid from them. Not that expensive. They should give you the washer for free. make sure to drain it twice! After that its once every other year. Its approx $25 bucks and a half hour of your time to do it.

I have recently brought this car. I was wrong about the tranny, it was changed at 113K from Midas by previous owner.

Now car is drving smoothly with no issues (after CEL I did not go to highways). Shall I wait and watch or this is something may create problem in future?
