Plastic trim retainers in trunk

Hey guys,

You know the trim piece that you remove to replace the tail lights? Well where do you get the little black plastic retainers that screw onto the studs that hold the trim on? I'm talking about the big ones.

Thanks

Snag one from a junkyard or see if autozone has anything that will work in the universal aisle

Go to your closest Toyota dealership (parts dept). They sell them for about 50 cents each.

I wish. Anything resembling plastic clips sells for $2+ up here.

Junkyard

I found 1 of these at the junkyard while pulling lock actuators yesterday. With this stuff, usually they don't even waste time making you pay. I've left with many small plastic parts for my Toyotas at no charge. Toyota is going to charge you at least $2-3 for each new, however I did call my dealership the other day and it is apparently a stock part.

I know this because I just bought a '98 Corolla and it was missing both of the retainer "screws."

Many auto parts stores carry generic ones. That is, they may not have the same finish or the size may be a little off. One 'brand' is HELP. They have all sorts of odds and ends.
