weapon r intake help

well i have a 2000 corolla and i found a used weapon r intake online really cheap but its for the 03-08 corolla. does anyone know if i can still use it? the only difference i can tell is that the one that is recommended for my year has a bigger degree bend in it putting it more towards the firewall as the 03-08 doesent it faces the fender.

Probably have to play around with it a bit, maybe fab an different bracket. The throttlebody openings are different sizes between the generations - the 9th gen being slightly bigger than the 8th gen. The 2005+ that switched to a DBW setup are slightly bigger than the early 9th gen.

Assuming that portion of the tubing can be squished down to fit your throttlebody - though you have to guard against any vacuum leaks. Be more likely with a used intake, especially if it actually sat on the car for any length of time - hardens the rubber material.

Likely have to undo a bracket or more - depending on how your MAF wiring is tied to the car, as it may not reach the opening on that intake.

You can make it work - just make sure you don't make any vacuum leaks in the process, could potentially be a nightmare to diagnose down the road. Up to you if it is worth the time/extra costs. Should be able to find a pretty inexpensive one for the 8th gen that will be more plug and play - just keep looking.
