I was wondering if there is a way to check for codes instead of using a scanner, like using a simple paper clip to read the codes.

If using a paper clip can do so,then which pin do i plug in since there's only 4 wire on the diagnostic plug(red, black, 2 white).

OMG you have 499 posts here on T.N. that's for an 80's Honda's & others, lol. Sorry but no that paperclip trick wont work on any thing that I know of post 1994.
