oil coolers or bypass oil filters

I have oil coolers on all of my other rides and bypass systems on the diesels. I was just curious if any of you had installed them on your VVTI engines? I've read the oil block from the lotus version has oil cooler outlets and I know I could get a adapter block and install an oil cooler but I'd be worried a full flow oil cooler might drop the oil pressure and create issues.

I was just reading an artical in Hot Rod about the 2013 Shelby GT500 Mustang (great artical!). It's got a 650HP supercharges 5.8L V8. They have an oil cooler on it and oil flow is regulated by a thermostat. They were saying that it's a bad idea to have an oil cooler WITHOUT a thermostat. If the oil is not able to get up to 220* temps it will not lubricate like it's supossed to and it will not burn off the acids that are byproducts of internal combution engines.

On our low horse power, non-turbo cars I doubt it's nesassary.

yes

It would need a thermostat no doubt. Greddy makes a spin on sandwich type full flow oil cooler adapter(with thermostat) for the 1ZZ as well as quite a few other manufacturers make generic ones for 3/4 16 oil filters.
