alternator ground wire

so i just completed a head gasket change on a 99 corolla.

after removing and reinstalling the alternator, the ground wire-to-battery seems to be missing.

anyone have a picture or diagram of where this wire is supposed to trace back to?

ive done multiple searches but haven't found anything remotely helpful.

any information is much appreciated!

thanks in advance

Not sure exactly which one you are talking about but....
There is a (12"~) 12ga. that goes from the passanger side strut tower to the passanger side motor mount and there are 2 coming off the batter negative post both about 24". One kind of goes to the chassis under the air box on the driver side and the other bolts to the top of the transmission case.

Just so you know that is not a ground. It's the +12V alternator output.

It goes to the bottom of the relay/fuse box that is mounted behind the passanger side headlight.

junk yard

Run down to a junk yard and take a peak. Plus if you are missing anything snag it off the car.

yea thats the idea.

well i found where it was, it got lodged between the radiator and core support, it just blended in like part of the harness that runs underneath the core support so i was over looking it. got it all sorted out now thanks for all the information!
