Steering pump creaking

Corolla 99 54k 1ZZFE

My car started to creak a few months ago. I noticed the sound came from the steering pump, and also, when i turned, the car stopped creaking while the pump had to make an effort to turn the wheels. After the wheels didn't need to turn anymore, the creaking came back again.

After I changed it a month ago and everything went back to normal.

Today the car started to make a soft pounding. When i hear closer, it seems like the old creaking but really slow. It's like the steering pump was getting damaged again :'(. When i try to turn with the car stopped, this soft pounding stops, but only like this (the same as with the old damaged pump).

I had to change the power steering fluid also one month ago, but the reservoir is full.

Additional data:
OEM for steering pump: 44320-02034
I also changed the v-belt (90080-91135)
I also changed the water pump (16100-09170)
I also changed the tensioner (16620-22010, 16620-22011, 16620-22012, 16620-22013, by goodyear 49346). Don't remember the part number exactly
My water pump wasn't doing a sound like the steering pump, but got damaged round the same age.

To be sure, you are suggesting the power steering fluid is old, dirty and is messing the pump's filter? And if it was so, how should i clean the power steering system?

You said you replaced the pump and fluid recently right?

But the noise comes back. Thought perhaps you should take the reservoir off and have a look, who knows maybe somethings clogged.

Hi,

sorry, i overestimated the issue. with a stethoscope i realized it actually was the belt tensioner. it's a shame because it is new. when i put out the belt and turn on the car, the sound is gone. weirder is that now isn't noisy again. the wheel of the tensioner has some play which the old one doesn't have. i think i bought the part from goodyear which doesn't feet well for my car.

anyway, thank you for paying attention to this. you guys rock.
