What do you typically drive at on the highway? I feel like if i do anything over 70, something is going to blow. Also how long have you drove in it?

That is true! lol...
My last 100 mph ride was 5 yeas ago, now with 161k miles on it I don't have the balls to do it again!

Purchased in 2004 with 63k miles on it (161k miles now)
Longest trip: Indianapolis-Detroit, Detroit-Indianapolis.

I think I saw somewhere else that Bennie was getting about 30mpg which indicates he may of had a 4sp in his Prizm. Can tell you that even at 65mph, these 3sp trannys will make the engine turn at about 3,200rpms and about 3,500 at 70mph. I've enhanced my LI to have a tach instrument cluster and also realtime OBDII engine stats monitoring, and get a bit skittish too about the rpm's being so high at highway speeds. I read a lot of owners who also complain about their engines drinking oil at speeds about 60-70mph, but that may be due to failing/stuck oil rings. A lot of complaints I've read about the 8th gen (1ZZFE) engine, but those who have religiously changed their oil, seem to be happy. Know from experience in buying one with an almost new engine in it where the prior owner didn't change the oil, the engine will sludge up big time, the oil rings will seize and plug up, sludge will build up big time over everything on the top end, and well, the reason I had to go into this one, was because shortly after buying it, the oil lines were so plugged up, the exhaust cam seized due to lack of oil, and the chain literally sheered the sprocket off the cam resulting in conflict slam bam issues and damaged valves etc. IF your engine is still good, not burning oil and not sludged up, chances are if you change your oil religiously, might prove to be a good reliable car for you. One way to tell from what I've read from others, is if you do some hwy driving at 70-80 or so for a while, and you don't consume any oil, then chances are your oil rings and tiny oil drain holes that are too small and too few are still ok. Just make sure you get that oil changed regularly, and if you can afford it, use synthetic as that will help prevent oil break-down and sludge build up.
