VVT vs NON VVT

What are the difference's between the Variable valve timing engine and the non variable valve timing engine? Can i use a non VVT engine in my vvt car? what difference is there?

VVTI has 5 more horsepower and you cannot put in a non vvti unless you swap ecm and wiring.
