^^ That was my next guess.... Just get the pin outta there and then pull the chamber out.
And guys: to get the chamber out you dont need to remove the steering wheel, just the plastic covers around the shaft.
And also: airbags actually have a backup so that if the battery is destroyed they will still deploy, so removing fuses and battery cables wont do it. There is a certain procedure that is needed, so you dont accidentally deploy them...
