Angry Intermittent Wipers Stopped Working

Hello All.

This is my latest problem.

05 Corolla S. 166,000 + miles.

My windshield wipers don't stop in their resting place at the bottom of the windshield and my intermittent wipers don't work. My wash fluid works but wipers don't work in intermittent mode. Any suggestions? I thought it might be the motor but the wipers work fine except in that mode and in the other modes fast and slow they don't rest at the bottom of the windshield.

Any offers of what is wrong and how to go about repairing it?

Thank.

I would bet money your switch is bad.

Replace the switch and see if that fixes it.

Wiper switch is plug and play, check ebay or a junkyard for a wiper stalk from an LE and you can get variable intermittent wipers.

Is this a problem that I can fix myself or do I need to take it to a mechanic? I'm looking for the part number.

Thank you for your reply. Will keep you posted on how I make out.

84652‑02311, local junkyard maybe cheaper than ebay. This stalk is over $150 at the dealer.

Here is the DIY on how to remove it from an 8th gen corolla, it is very similar on your car. It is plug and play. Just dont mess with the air bag.
DIY: intermitent wiper switch upgrade/replacement
