Hissing Noise when Steering Wheel is Fully Turned to the Right or Left

I just did a power steering fluid change following this DIY link http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/13...ange-gen9.html step by step and everything seemed to go fine until the very end. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the power steering fluid or not though.

When I fully turn my steering wheel to the left or to the right (to the point where it can't turn anymore) I can hear a slight hissing sound like a moving part (i.e belt) is rubbing against a stationary part. If I force it to the left or right a little more it will become a little louder. The noise will continue until I start to return the wheel to the opposite side.

Does this have anything to do with my power steering DIY? I am 99% sure that all of the air bubbles were out of the line.

UPDATE

My girlfriend has a Mazda 3 2005 so for fun I went out and turned on her car and the cranked the wheel to the left and the right. She had the exact same sound as in my 2006 Corolla! A slight hissing when you hit the end of the turning and it gets louder if you continue to try and turn it.

So I feel a little better knowing this but at the same time what in the world is this noise?!

2006 Corolla - 80'000km
2005 Mazda 3 - 159'000km

Does this have to do with the power steering pump? I sure hope they are not going bad because I think that is beyond my skills here. Also I would be surprised if the Corollas pump is starting to go at 80'000km. Anyways let me know what you think.

Normal in hydraulic power steering. Not sure what it is though.

It's basically the sound of the power steering pump being overworked. You're trying to steer beyond what the steering linkage can physically travel and it's loading down the power steering pump.

It's good practice to avoid steering it all the way to the "stops" if at all possible as it's really hard on the power steering system and the rack.
