Yes. Lights not won't come on. Basically no response from vehicle at all. No door lock/unlcok sound when using keyless. When I try ignition all I hear is turning the key sound.. like in a dead zone.
How to check connections? I called Toyota and PepBoys etc they said checking in 120 (toyota) 90 (pepboys).. Any cheaper suggestions?
I would first check the power cables at the battery then all the ground connections. Be aware that a cable can be broken inside its jacket and appear just fine on the exterior. Once you have determined connections are good, check the main fuses.
Bring it to Autozone and have them do a free battery check. $120 to check a connection is insane! I'm guessing that there's a bad ground or other connection up on the battery.
My guess is that the main fusible link is broken. Coming of the positive battery cable there are 2 wires: a thick black/red that goes to the starter, and a higher gauge blue wire that goes to the fuse box. This wire has a fusible link and if there's an open circuit here, you won't have any power with the car off, and it won't be able to start because the solenoid won't be able to close if it isn't getting power, which comes from the small wire. Get a multimeter and check continuity between the positive battery cable and the plug that the small wire goes into the fuse box.
