05 storage door...

My 7 year old son recently broke the storage compartment door on my wifes 05 Corolla. Is there any suggestion where to purchase one other than the dealership. I believe I need the entire trim piece around the ac controls and radio because the door broke completely off and the springs holding it in place are gone as well. $186 is a little steep. Help please.

other than a junkyard, im not sure where you would be able to get any parts for an '05, and even a junkyard would not charge you much less than the dealer price for such a new car since the only '05 corollas they probably would have are crash cars. also, you would have to match it, and with the trouble you would go through to find a matching used part, you might have been better off just getting a new part from a dealer.

Those things break ALL the f'ing time.

Depending on the color of your interior, you can use ANY part from 03 up. It's all the same part. Check ebay, I've seen them appear there semi-frequently.

Btw, the piece around the radio (with the a/c vents) is a separate piece from the big center chunk with the little compartments in it. Also, if you broke one of the doors, you might just need a new door. You might want to go to the dealership to have them tell you exactly what you need (if you havent already). I broke the door once in mine, and they replaced it under warranty b/c people are ALWAYS complaining about that thing breaking.

I check ebay and couldnt find anything....
None of the local junkyards have any 03's-up on the yard...
Do you know of any good junk yards on line would possibly have one???

Has anyone tried to glue or repair the door back on? Im open for suggestions here.
