2003 Corolla LE (a few questions)

My g/f just picked up a 03 Corolla LE Auto with 60,000miles on it.

She bought it off a local used car lot, the car came with NO maintenance records. I told her to contact the use car guy and get the history atleast from the dealership where it was bought new from if there's anything.

Anyways, I plan to give the car a good look over and tune up. I don't know much about these cars, as I'm a Dodge Truck owner myself and I do my own work.
Is there any problem areas I should look at or be concerned of??

-I plan on changing the spark plugs, what is recommended?? I like to stick with NGK if possible, they make great plugs.

-Coolant change, have any of you guys switch over from the orange stuff to the green stuff??

-Steering fluid need replacing??

-I'll be flushing the brake fluid and inspecting the rest of the brake system.

-Tranny will also get a flushing.

-Air filter and pcv valve will also be changed

Anything else you guys can add or I over looked would be great.

With only 60,000 miles on it, I would change the oil and filter and drive it another 40,000 before I even thought about touching anything else.

The thing is, we know nothing about the history of this car. I mean NOTHING!!! I don't even know if this car even had a single oil change in 60,000 miles. I told my g/f before buying any car make sure it has a history of service done.

Well just for the safety aspect I would like to do a complete tune up on the Corolla. It will make me sleep better at nights

if you do decide to change the coolant over to green stuff then you have to flush out every last trace of the pink/red stuff, i was told the two react and can cause problems...

Best bet is to take a look in the manual it will give you the maintenance schedule just follow that

I know that the orange stuff has to be completed drained out. I've converted over a few cars to the green stuff, I did some research and found that the orange stuff plugs up the water jackets in the block. That's not a good thing!!!

Does anyone know where I can get a "color matching" strip to replace the black strip on the sides of the Corollas with the CE package?
