Cabin air filter?

Hello,
Have a 2006 Corolla LE and I have been told that the cabin air filter needs to be changed. (deal told me that) I have looked around and under the hood but can not figure out where it is. Can someone tell me where it is and if I can change it myself?

Thanks for all the help,
Scott

It is behind the glove box. Open the glove box. You may be able to reach it with your fingers or else unscrew the rod that keeps the glove box from opening too far and then squeeze the sides to open it past the tabs. The filter is right there.

It's easier to get at by removing your glove compartment door, just push in the two side tabs....

Note, replace it yourself, it's simple(a ten minute job) you can buy a filter for $20, your dealer will charge you $50+ for doing it!

I knew I had this picture somewhere...

Just press in on those two white tabs and pull out to get at your filter, be careful and pull it out slowly because you might have a bunch of crap trapped on the filter that could fall down inside.

I bought a 5 pk of filters on ebay for $35 a few years ago...

Good luck

Scott, I just hooked up with this toyota group cause I was without my owners manuel (momentarily) and it was past time to change the cabin filter on my '06 red corolla. Got it switched out OK. How about you?
