Does anyone here think that the 2003 corolla windows do not roll far enough to provide a good seal from the elements? My gf's 2003 corolla has manual windows and they never stay shut properly. You roll them up, and it stops very abruptly, and start to rattle unless your rip the handle really hard forcing the window up into the groove. I looked at the window frame and the window seat IS awfully shallow. Is this common to all 2003 corollas or just my gf's?
i have also noticed that my window doesn't stay tightly up with the frame, i'd put it up in the night and the next morning, i'd drive and hear outside noise, and put it up again...
also when i OPEN the window it gives me some kind of cranking noise..

2003 Toyota Corolla S (black)
I know not many ppls here have 2003 corollas, but went to the dealership yesterday to ask about any TSBs on the windows rattling or not closing properly on the 2003 'rollas, and lo-and behold, there was one!
If you have this problem, go in, ask about it, then tell them that you have this problem. Apparently, the regulator in the manual windows are faulty. Not enuf to cause a recall, but enuf that it will be fixed under warrentee.
BTW, i always thought that regulators were electric parts like a motor...why would a manual window assembly have regulators?
anyone has the TSB for this rattling problem? or the TSB number?
i have a 2003 Corolla, took it to the dealer and they said it's a common problem but they are not going to do anythig about it because Toyota Canada has not issued anything to fix it.
according to this, there's a TSB that means they have to fix it.
am confused...warranty is going to expire soon, so would like to get that fixed before warranty expire.
There are a lot of things that can go wrong with a car that are not covered by a TSB. Does this mean they can't fix it, if there is none. I don't think so. The TSB just makes it easier for them to handle a recurring problem.
As long as you have documented proof that a problem was reported before the warranty expires, it will be covered for a reasonable time after expiry.
I have had the same problem and the dealership has replaced the regulators and stil to no avail it is still a problem. And yes it is a 2003 corolla. Any other smart answers.
