2005 Corolla XRS Strut Bolts Coming Loose

Hey I've been messing around with my suspension and I've got crash bolts in them. The factory manual says to torque it to about 116lbfts but I can only get it to about 75 before they feel like they are going to snap.

As a result the struts are actually moving. Suggestions anyone? Loctite maybe?

Ok for those wondering what are crash bolts, they are the bolts that go into the strut that allows camber adjustment.

Are the nuts backing off or whatever is bolted up moving around due to lack of clamp up (bolt torque). If the nuts, Loctite might help.

On my 99 Corolla, the Haynes manual said to torque to 205 ft lbs. Thankfully, my buddy Garth loaned me his Snap-on torque wrench which went much higher than I needed. My 1/2 torque wrench on went up to 150 ft lb.

Check out my thread on strut replacement:

Mine only goes to 100 and yet I'm only at 75 and it feels like its going to snap. Maybe time to borrow one that goes higher.

Thanks everyone. I borrowed a torque wrench that goes to 250lbft and yeah I got it to 130 lbft, which is a little more than the 116lbft they recommended but I autocross the car every weekend, so a little tighter will keep my alignment a little more intact.
