There dosn't seem to be a lot of performance parts out there any more on these cars in particular cold intake. I picked up a brand new 2007 Corolla S last month and I'm try look for a cold intake and headers. They don't seem to have any aplications for 2007. Are 2004-2005 the same application parts. Even the XRS?
I assume I can get these parts at the same performance shops I can get for my Camaro like Karbelt, Performance Improvements, or Straight line racing here in Toronto. I just don't what be laughed at when I ask about these parts for my Rolla.

Yes, most motorsports shops stock parts for different brands. I got all my parts from Speedtech motorsports except the tires in Calgary (they specialize in Hondas, but were able to get me all the stuff I needed).

Any parts for the 2005 and up cars will fit your car as they're practically still the same model, I believe 2003-2004 models were different due to not having the Drive-by-wire system that the 2005 and up have.
A good exaust shop should be able to custom fab a header/2.5 inch exaust system for your car, but that is pricy. I would just wait for the aftermarket.
You would think they would come up with an aftermarket header for these 9th gens by now. The current generaton has been around since 2004. I checked the cosmo site and I heard some good things about there product. One, is they don't cause the engine light to come on not like the other intakes that are out there.

They do, there is the DC Sports, JP as well as the Weapon R along with others.
9th generation chassis began in 2002 (USDM).
There are some intakes that don't cause the CEL to come on as well, its a hit or miss.
I was looking at the Cosmo intakes on their website and I didn't see anything about C.A.R.B exemption. Is there another way to tell? Does it even matter? Thanks.

A friend of mine has a 1zz corrola with headers, intake and exaust....It still feels just as slow as stock, just a bit louder. It pulls a very tiny bit harder up hills and at low rpms, but there is nothing else noticable except for the sound. The 1zz comes optimized from the factory for what you can do with it, spending $1000 or so on perfomance parts will just net you a more expensive louder version of the same slow car. Even supercharged you are looking at low 16, high 15 second quarter mile times.
If you are looking for a racey engine sound, get a short ram, that way you will be able to get at the filter for cleaning easier. You won't gain much with a cold air intake.

If you don't mind me asking, what are you currently running with the setup on your XRS? Have you dynoed it yet?
