Attach it to a metal brace under the dash.

I simply snipped the #12 wire, it's a white/red wire. It removes the DRLs and leaves the auto dash lighting still intact. I understand cutting/grounding the yellow wire removes the automatic dash lighting.

Mine is a 2007 LE model.

Take what off? The Daytime Running Lights? A lot of people have a variety of reasons. Me...I work on a DoD facility with access control points. It's inconsiderate and unsafe to pull up to the gate with your lights burning, especially after hours. And with the Corolla's DRLs, you can't turn them off without disabling them. Even putting the light switch on parking lights only (no headlights), the lights were still burning at 75% intensity, or whatever the DRLs are.

Where is this plug located? Under the dash on the drivers side?

All sorts of pics and diagrams and information here:

Edit: I guess the "9th gen corolla forum" is a taboo word here.

Go to 9th gen corolla.com (all one word) and look in the DIY section.
