Disable DRL's on 2007 Corolla S class

Hey all,
I haven't seen anyone post any thing specific on 2007 models. The closest thing I found was a TSB but it only mentioned models up to 2000 model. Does anyone know or have a official word on how to disable the drls on 2007 models?

yeah, what daniel said... but underneath the steering wheel there is a "box with wires". cut the yellow wire and ground the end not connected to the box. Above site has pics^^

DRL disable

I tried the cutting of the yellow wire going to the box and grounded it then I turned on the car and the DRL still turned on.

Did you ground the end coming out of the DRL box? Did your battery light come on?

Just curious.... but why do you want to disable the day time running lights? Is it for some special reason or look??? Sorry, just wanted to the know the reasoning behind it.

You will need to disable them if you have HIDs. Plus they reduce bulb life, have a parasitic current draw from the battery, and could distract other drivers on the road. They don't necessarily make the car any safer. It's just something unnecessary.

I can understand the need to disable for HID's but in my opinion I don't think DRL's are distracting to other drivers if your lights are aimed properly. Thay should be on the road and not in other peoples eyes. Just my opinion though. This is my first Corolla so I don't know about the parasitic loss and bulb life .Thanks for the info though.

No, I grounded the end not attached to the DRL box and I didn't see the battery light on.

Parasitic loss and bulb life are on all cars. Bulb life is more on cars with DRL's. The ECM is always on even when the car is off, but't not a whole lot of voltage it uses.

Better drivers make roads safer, not DRL's.
DRL's are a PITA. What if you want to idle at night without having your lights on?
Hunters and sportsman can benefit from not having DRL's giving away your location.
I know when to turn on and off my headlights.
Its just another example of Government dumbing down society.
