2005 Corolla XRS - Question

So I recently picked up a used 2005 XRS, and I have a question about the clutch behavior. It seems to me that the clutch pedal excessively vibrates when it is pressed in for shifts above 4000 RPM. I'm not sure if this is just a trait of the engine/tranny combo, or if there's actually an issue. Guess I should post this in the Celica forum as well...

P.S. I can replicate this standing still by revving the engine and pushing the clutch in and out.

so ur saying the pedal is vibrating when you do that or the car is being vibrated by the motor.... if the clutch is vibrating I would think the throw out bearing may be bad... but tell ya what go to this site dub dub dub 9th gen corolla dot com <<u know how it goes and then ask the question there, u will get many more responses

Thanks for the heads up. The clutch specifically is vibrating, not the body of the car. And it seems like it's more so when the clutch pedal is actually moving rather than when it's being held in a fixed position.

Do Toyota powertrain warranties cover clutches? I don't see anything in my literature that speaks contrary to that.

I have been driving my XRS for close to 3 years and never had the clutch vibration issues you are mentioning in your post. It could be possible that your clutch plate is worn out. I would take it to the dealership and have them check it out.

If its the throwout bear you might hear some unpleasant noise when the clutch is engaged. People at http://www.corollaforums.us/forum/ can also help you too.
