Brand-wise you could go with Tein, Progress, or Hotchkis. I personally went with Tien, and have had then for over a year. No problems, and the ride is a lot better than stock.

i would say stay away from tien, the reason why it's better than stock is because the spring rate is soft. Eibach Prokit will give you a 1.1 inch drop. nice ride, nice performance, and a little stiffer than stock. TRD will give you the similar performance and ride like the eibachs, and that will lower you 1.5 inches. Once spring comes around, I'm dropping my XRS on Megan's. I know they have a reputation of not making quality parts, but people who do have these springs on their corollas seem to like them a lot and don't give them too much trouble. Megan's will give you a 2 inch drop, and is considerably stiffer.

I have Tein S. Tech Springs on my Rolla and I love them. Dropped the car a little over 2". Big drop. And it handles so much better. IMO I would buy the Tein. I absolutely love mine and would recommend them to everybody. No problems with them whatsoever.

Indeed I plan on doing this as well sooner or later, is it hard to get the shocks off an 08? And where could I rent a spring compressor, autozone?

Totally agree. And if you want less of a drop, you can get the tein H techs, which drop it just under 2", i believe.

I got my compressor at Advance Auto. Im sure you can get them at Autozone. Make sure the compressors you get are designed for newer cars.

if you are asking me, i was going stick with my kyb gas shocks for now. maybe upgrade to koni yellows once my stock shocks have blown...i am pretty sure my stock shocks won't last me too long, 2 inch drop is pretty big, and plus after settling would be 2.2 or 2.3

Good choice. I love mine. Just make sure after you drop it to get your tires aligned. They are aligned only for the stock height so you to get them realigned or you can say bye bye to your tires.

Really? The car rides "better" now? I wouldn't mind dropping my Corolla (but not by much!). The only thing giving me hesitation is the ride. The stock ride is already plenty stiff for me. The Tein kit actually rides SOFTER than the stock equipment for you?

Looks like from the Tein website that I would want the H-tech vs. the S-tech. Looks like the H-techs lower the vehicle about 1.2 inches and from the website, maintain a high ride quality. But if you're reporting a SOFTER ride from stock, that really intrigues me.

Please comment. Thanks, I appreciate it! Any other H-tech owners on here?
