Are you talking about the white carbon smog "secondary filter" or something else?

I honestly dont know. haha. Someone on here mention a restrictor grill towards the front of the intake and i was wondering what it is exactly and how to take it off. I dont think he was talking about the secondary filter.

What exactly is the point of that carbon filter? I don't have any reason or plan to remove it, but I've also never seen that on another vehicle before. What is the carbon filter supposed to absorb that the cotton/paper filter doesn't?

I am not sure of the reasoning, since it is carbon, I assume it is emissions related but I don't know how.

Here is a very long thread about it: Secondary Airfilter

Are you talking about whats in the intake box...above the air filter? If you want to bypass it, just find a CAI or RAM kit for your car that connects right to the intake hose. Or you could try to cut, pry it out somehow. I dont think its removable (from what I remember when installing my cai...)

I guess you're going to have to post a photo of it or something.
