i went with my friend to jiffy lube once to change his oil.
after a while the tech said "ok, you are good to go." then i asked "did you put oil in? the cap is still off" he was like "oops, sorry about that."
imagine if i didn't catch that and my friend started up the engine and drove home? probably end up with a pile of seized metals on the side of the road.
I work with a guy who had Jiffy Lube change his oil for his Honda Prelude because he was going on a 600+ mile trip the next day and didnt have time to do it himself. Well the next day when he was halfway his engine seized. The guy who changed the oil didnt tighten the drain pan bolt tight enough and it leaked all his oil out. He spent $3500 on a new motor.
I refuse to let anybody service my car unless i absolutely trust that person just for that reason. I change my own oil and fluids because I know it will be done right. It only takes me about 15 min to change my oil. Not much time out of my day and I only have to do it every three months.
I got some tires at Walmart a few years back and they have a window looking out in the work area...As I looked out the kids working there were having a oil fight throwing quarts of oil at each other right over this guys Navigator! Lucky for me my car was still parked outside!

I just had Walmart swap my wheels for the Prius alloys just this past Tuesday. I watched 'em down through that window. They were pretty professional. It was a slow night, and about 3-4 guys were out there working on it. Looked like a pit crew.

Guess there's good and bad employees in all business's, how many times do you think you ate a fast food meal or any meal with a glob of spit or worse in it Worse thing Walmart did to me was not torquing one of my wheels down after a tire rotation and it started wobbling after a while
F*** Wal-Mart Auto service.....they just suck and turn around time SUCKS...I waited 5 hours just for them to remove a tire form the wheel......
Wow!!
They dismounted four tires, swapped four wheels, and had me on my way in about 45 minutes total. No vibes or wobbles. Of course, I always re-torque after 100 miles or so anyway, no matter who is working on the car (myself included).
Walmart here in Canada is only good for Tires, they got cheap tires and free balance/rotation for the life of the tires. Other types of services I don't know if I would trust them.
There's a reason why I go to the dealer rather than Mr lube or jiffy lube or anywhere else, yet the dealer STILL finds a way to mess up. I switched dealers because the mechanics where I used to go didn't change my filter in 3 oil changes. Unfortunately I think the current one just did it to me too.

Why did you wait so long, I would have been gone after the first and definitely after the second screw up, if they were suppose to be putting on the same type filter how did you catch it?
