USA Engine/Accelerating problems with a 05 Corolla

New here maybe someone can help. I have 2 problems with my automatic Corolla 2005 CE with 50,000 miles. The first problem is that my car stutters to accelerate usually between 45-55 mph and it feels likes it’s struggling to get in gear. The think is I brought it to the shop and it didn’t do it when the mechanic looked at it, and they ran the entire test on the computer and everything was fine when they test drove it. The mechanic said he can’t do anything unless they know what the exact problem is because he said it could be filter which is new, fuel injection which was done a few months ago, or it could be a transmission problem. But the problem is getting worse.

The other problem I have is sometimes my car struggles to start like it will be fine when I first turn it on, then if I drive for 15 minutes in to change, then come back out then it struggles then, which I don’t understand since the car is fairly new and I take care of it do all the maintenance that’s required on time.

Well maybe someon could shed some light, so I can get the problem fixed, Thanks for your time.

I don't know about the first problem but, the problem with the car not wanting to start is a common 05 problem. If you do a search you will see it is a common 05 problem. My car has almost 90,000 miles and has had that problem since day one. It doesn't seem to effect the car so even though I have had the car checked and the dealer has changed numerous parts, the car continues to have the problem. I don't think the problems are related but you never know with electronics these days.

I had a long response, but something happened to it. Clean Throttle body, MAF, and reset ECU.
