Tire size help

Hi I have a set of 205/65-R15 winter tires. Will it fit on my 2007 corolla that has 195/65-R15 on?

Thanks in advance.

it should fit, but the 205s will have a bigger sidewall and the speedo might pick up the difference. google 'tire size calculators' something should come up.

Yep, should be no issues. All tires have a slightly different size (even though all might have the same nominal size). There are some tall tires in the 195/65R15 size that are almost as tall as some short tires in the 205/65R15 size. In other words, the difference is already slight, and could be smaller than you might think, depending on the particular tires involved.

The suggestion to use a tire size calculator is a good one, as it'll give you a general idea of the nominal tire dimensions. But recall that there are variances, and particular tires are different. For example, Michelin tires are often on the "small" side of the allowable range for a given size, in both diameter and width. I almost put a set of Michelin X Radial tires on my '07 LE in the 205/65R15 size. I ended up putting on Yokohama Avid TRZ in 195/65R15, and the difference in the two tires' diameters is only about 0.2", despite there being a greater difference in the nominal dimensions.

Make sense?

Basically as he said use a calculator to help. You want to maintain the same overall tire and wheel diameter. For example when I moved to 18s I went from 195/65/15 to 225/40/18. This was the closest match giving me a speedometer difference positive .3%, Which means when my car hits 100,000 miles, It will have really have traveled 100,300 miles. Which is really not a big deal.

I went up to a 205-65-15 on my S with a set of BFG traction T/A(directional) and after a couple thousand miles the outer edges of both my front tires started slightly cupping and making a road sound, my alignment was perfect, but the mechanic said it had something to do with how a different sized tire plays on the car's suspension, BJ's replace them free with the same right sized_195-65) tire and I'm at 30K on them with no problems, take it for what it's worth but I'm just telling you the experience that I had by going up in size, REN the moderator here explained how you had to adjust those first two numbers to get a right fit especially on snow tires , I can't remember what he said though! It didn't bother my back tires

I haven't really pay close attention up until this point, but if there is a decrease in mpg, it is not big enough for me to take notice.
