Fuel Filler 2007 LE

Dumb question. My power of observation is zero.
Is there suppose to be a spring loaded flap in the fuel filler like most cars? (That stainless disc that the fuel nozzle pushes out of the way when you fill-up)

Thanks

that stainless steel disc you talk of definitely isnt a filter. the fuel filter would be under the back seat of the corollas.

Thanks. I should have done a better job wording my question. There should be a disc? When I remove my gas cap, I look right down the hole. I am concerned that mine is missing or in the bottom of the tank.

Thanks

No, it's not supposed to be there. Newer vehicles don't have those flaps. There may be one down below, at the tank. Our '07 Town & Country doesn't have this flap anymore either. Our '03 Grand Caravan (same vehicle) did. So at some point between them, the spec changed. I don't know when the Corolla went to a flap-less filler neck, but my '07 LE is the same as yours in that regard.

sorry richard, my mistake, i misread filter for filler. my apologies. but jason A is right. there is a butterfly valve by the opening of the tank where your filler meets the gas tank.
