check engine light/ emergency brake

my check engine light came on after less than a minute of driving with the emergency brake on. Was that the cause of it or is there some other issue going on?

Hard to tell if it is related. Go to autozone to get the code pulled for free. Do you have ABS? Maybe you messed up the skid control sensor.

I'd recommend getting the code read as mentioned above. I'd say there are better odds of it being more of a coincodence then not.

o2 sensors becoming lazy tend to be the most common code triggers I have seen.

Pull the code and let us know what it is.
