Friend,

The CE, LE and S are all running the same engine and tranny. I would look at the salvage yards in your area. Call around and "let your fingers do the walking."

PS: I am assumeing that the tranny has been checked out???

I'm betting that the bearings went in your tranny? When mine had to be replaced I phoned around and got one out of a wrecked 07 with 5,600 km's on it and had that installed in my car but I kept the old one because when the new goes I'll have new bearings put in the old 5 speed and put that back in.

This seems like a problem with the 5 speed 03+ Corollas and used tranny's are going to get harder to find.

What actually happens? Does it get hard to shift, make a lot of noise, or what?

It's drivable with no hard shifts just alot of bearing noise and of coarse if you leave it there will be total failure. Mine went at 132,000 miles and from what I gather thats going to be normal like the Dodge minivan tranny's from the early 90's.

The tran is hard to shift. When I start the car and the clucth making noise. When I press it the noise gone. I have been calling around the junk just only 2 place that have it. But they are in states of LA, and AR for $1500 with 21k miles. The new one I can get is $1900 at Toyota dealer.
