2004 storage compartment doors

I need an entirely new storage compartment for the section underneath the radio. Both door hinges are broken and just flop open. Where can I get this online? Is it called something different, cause I can't find it.

Thanks!

u dont need to buy a new one. take one of those thin refrigerator magnets and cut some strips out of it and glue them to the door and the housing. simple, fast, free.

I think a big % of ninth generation corollas happened to have that problem, lots of threads on that here especially for the top one(under the climate control) because it has a cheap plastic tab that holds the springs on both side and breaks easily, but I never heard of the bottom one breaking, I might be wrong but I think that and the coin tray(left side of your steering wheel) are like gravity closed, when you push on it it falls into place as to the middle one where it pulls closed by springs...Toyota wants around a $100 for a new one, I just rigged a heavy duty rubber band in back, it's held for the last two years and works great/doesn't show! I think it's called a radio or a dash console but I'm not sure, you would have thought Toyota would have fixed this frequent problem in their later ninth generation cars...

I don't know if they make an aftermarket replacement, best bet is to try the boneyards!

You can find a replacement from the local dealer. A used one can be found on ebay if your lucky or a salvage yard.

Well, the lower compartment of my 2003 LE was broken a couple of months ago while the upper one is still functional. Toyota makes great cars in general, but I have to say this part was really a stupid engineering job!

I simply used tape to permanently seal the lower compartment from the back, and won't use the upper one any more.

To keep my lower storage drawer from flopping open I took a 2 inch long, 1/2 inch wide piece of adhesive-backed velco (soft side) and slid half of it between the upper back lip of the drawer. I did this with soft side facing up and adhesive side down. I folded down the remaining 1 inch piece of velco and attached it to the back of the drawer.

The friction between the velco and upper part of the console was enough to keep the drawer closed but smooth enough to let the drawer open comfortably.

For the upper door, I ended up removing the door and gluing a thin black plastic strip to each side of the opening to cover the edges. The strips were the same color and texture of the console . Now the dash looks like the open bin was the original intent.
