Here is the coolant service procedure as per Alldata

    1. Loosen the radiator and engine drain plugs, and drain the coolant.
    2. Close the drain plugs. Torque: 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) for engine
  1. ADD COOLANT
    1. Slowly fill the system with coolant. HINT:
    • Use of improper coolants may damage engine cooling system.

    • Using of coolant which includesmore than 50 % (freezing protection down to -35°C (-31°F) or60% (freezing protection down to -50°C (-58°F)) of ethylene-glycol is recommended but not more than 70% .
DO NOT FURTHER DILUTE PRE-MIXED MANUFACTURER APPROVED ETHYLENE GLYCOL BASED COOLANT IF USED.

NOTICE:
  • Do not use an alcohol type coolant or plain water alone.
  • The coolant should be mixed with plain water (preferably demineralized water).
Capacity: 6.5 liters (6.9 US qts, 5.7 Imp. qts)

To drain the coolant there is a drain valve at the bottom of the radiator.

this is all great but got a question

what do you do with used colant? I called my local sewerwater district they said there machine wont clean out glycol and gets put back in stream where fish, dogs play. I did a change once on beemer and just dumped some street rest in toilet. If there was a way to dispose of it i would.

im pretty sure you can go to the recycling part and type in your zip code.
i found a place in simi, local jiffy lube will allow you to recycle there

I'm not sure where the engine plug is...what I did was fill with distilled water and then drain over and over until it was clear.

As for the anti freeze, I dumped them in the toilet as instructed by the City. However not down the sewer.

Here in Boston they have certian dates and times to drop off all your hazmats at local DPW yards. I worked at Autozone for a while and I know for a fact people would mix it in with their used oil and get rid of it that way.

Shame on you for pouring in down the toilet. Obviously you don't understand the consequences.

Next time, check here:

www.earth911.org

Type "antifreeze" and your zip code into the search fields.

You know this is a growing problem. I have done several DIY coolant flush jobs, and just for grins I ask the guy at the parts store what I can do with the coolant. They never know. That is total B.S. Talk to your town or city hall and get the right answer.

I worked at Autozone part time for a while and people would always ask where to bring it. Besides a recyle "day" or paying a garage to take it you are stuck. We used to have regular customers that would take their own oil to the back and dump it in the vat. They would sneak antifreeze in and just leave it on the side making it our problem.
