Unhappy Adding keyless entry on 2004 Corolla CE

I would like to add a keyless entry to my 2004 Corolla CE. I would have the work done at either Toyota or chain with a good reputation since I know that a bad job could really mess up the wiring harness and electronics. Any ideas on the prices or suggestions on places to start to check for a quote? Thanks.

Rick

Does the car have power door locks

If your car has power door locks this is not a very tough job for any one who is mecp certified but if you are looking to have locking actuaters installed I would advice going to the dealer or the aftermarket actuaters are very clunky and installed wrong can make it hard to manually lock your car
But if you have power door locks thier are mecp certified installers in the chain stores as well as the smaller shops. I when you get this done you could get them to hook up a trunk pop actuater they are a simple device and hard to screw up also it's nice to open the trunk with out having to open the door or use the key

Unfortunately the car does not have power door locks so it would need the actuators installed first. I am sure that the price of the job is considerable.
Thanks for the input.

I used to do that for a living you could go aftermarket but like I said before it is very hard to get this. Right make sure the shop you use does them on a regular basis the good way to find out is by price if they are charging ally more then other shops they most likely think it will take a long time I closed my shop 6 years ago but we would charge 50 a door the actuator is about 15. Good luck

Thanks for the input. Nice to have an idea of the price from someone who worked in the field.

Canada

maybe easier to go to junk yard to look for rolla door already have power lock on, that will be much easier to switch those doors than install the power lock and remote keyless entrance unit.

After checking the price of the conversion, I'd have to agree. Next time I'll get the power door locks when I purchase the car.
Thanks for all the help.
