New to me 2008

Hey gang,

I just bought a 2008 CE for my daughter. It had 18K miles and I paid 12,400 for it. The test drive went great, and I crawled all over it. It's in pristine condition. I guess it better be for the age and miles. A Carfax report showed one owner and no issues.

So, Did I get a good deal? And what are some of the issues if any with these?

BTW, I got it from a dealer.....

Thanks!

I'd say you got a good deal considering 07's round me with more than twice the miles go for around 13 :thumbsup
I would be suprised if you have any issues with the corolla for a long time as long as you take proper care of it.

Great....thanks. They were asking 13,600 initially. They dropped it to 12,400 with little haggling on my part. I've bought several cars from this dealership since 2002 and they are always crazy busy. But they were dead yesterday. I guess times are tough.......

yep.

that is the truth... i saw a documentary on tv a week ago stating that they rely on outside reports like insurance companies so it may not show up until a few years later.

Good buy. I bought mine back in the midst of the high gas prices last summer. Listed for $15,900, and I bought for $13,900. Mine's an '07 LE, and it had about 16,000 miles at the time.

That '08 CE will drive very well for a LONG time. Mine hasn't had a single repair, save for resurfacing the front brake rotors at the dealership before I bought it. No warranty repairs or other fixes save for oil changes.

I have the 08 S and have had it for almost a year... driven it from 0 to 13000 miles. 0 problems with the car excluding when a deer tried to jump it and missed...does anyone else live up north and have to play dodge the deer around this time of year?

We own 2 corollas (08 S and 09 XRS) 0 problems with either of them but we do have a 04 Camry and that has an alternator thats starting to go bad...

It depends on what the CE has for equipment. I picked my 08 CE up for $12,400 new. It's a stripped model with roll up windows and a manual transmission.

If it has an auto with roll up windows, it wouldn't be a bad price. In any case, you've bought a car that should run for 200,000 miles without much of a problem.

It's an auto with power windows, door locks, tilt, rear defrost and most of the other goodies.

I agree on the Carfax statements. They are only as good as the info that's put on 'em.

A friend of mine bought a used (2,000 mile) Suzuki from a dealer last year with a "clean" report. It developed driveline vibrations a few weeks later. While in the shop for the 3rd time, Lou was making small talk with one of the techs, when the tech mentioned that was the Suzuki that came to the dealer wrecked on a flatbed. DOH! He's still in litigation over that car.
