Replacing rear speakers in an 06' Corolla?

I posted this in the audio section, but it is getting like no views, I figured someone in here might know more about Corollas specifically.

From what I've read, the rear speakers on my 06 Corolla use an oversized bracket, and you need to drill new holes to make other 6x9s fit. Are there any speakers that will fit without drilling, or perhaps a bracket that will adapt standard 6x9s to fit into the stock holes?

Thanks!

why don't you just drill new holes rather than trying to find or make a bracket, it's not hard.

Maybe for you. I don't have a drill thats powerful enough, or the right drill bits. Either way I figured out what was wrong with my stock speakers. I just got the car back from the body shop, and they sounded like they were blown. I took the back dash apart today, and there were metal filings in the speakers that were vibrating, and making noise. I blew them out with compressed air and all is good.

I might still replace the speakers, but no rush for now. The stock ones sound good for paper speakers. Right now Im going to get an AMP for my Sub, since my old one died.

Thank you, I already have the back dash apart, I actually used you first link to do it. Im not so sure Im going to replace the rear speakers right now, since I figured out why the stock ones were sounding like crap, but it's good to know I can get the brackets if I need them.

I would recommend using the free tools at http://www.crutchfield.com and put your vehicle information in and it will show you what speakers work in your 2006 Corolla.

If you purchase the speakers from Crutchfield they include the brackets and adapter wires if needed for free in most cases
