What is the code or I assume there is a CEL? Sounds like a bad ECU. Take it or tow it to the dealer.

Yes very interesting indeed, very rare for a Corolla to act up like that (assuming it was cared for property), but i guess it happens to even the best of cars, could be very bad fuel, like contaminated.

Damn, what is with all the bad ECUs on the 06s? I am surprised there is not a recall on them.

Hi, sorry I am new here but i have an 06 corolla s and my car did the same thing. There is a TSB on this issue, toyota should fix it at no charge. They should definitely recall it, mine cut off while leaving my work parking lot (not good).

I am the latest victim of the ECU dying, it scared the wits out of my wife while driving in heavy traffic she said the car went click click click then everything stopped. No power anything, she manage to get off the highway. Long story short toyota fixed the problem very quickly at Sun Toyota in Port Richy Fl at no charge but I still had a $97 tow bill and a ruined day. This should dfinetly be a saftey recall in my opinion. 05 crolla s 48,000 miles.
