car wont start

hi, this is about an accord but should be answerable on any car forum.

the car wont turn over but will crank forever.

how do i test the spark coil? - hold a multi meter positive end to a coil contact and ground (negative) the negative side of the multi meter and check for the reading?

well by that i dindt mean i sat and cranked it forever.. but im just emphasizing its not a battery problem.
im not sure how many times the car was cranked.. as its not mine..

i knwo the longest crank was for about 10 seconds..

so what if it is flooded then what...? and thast only if theres no spark... which is what i want to test for...
but im hoping that its the main relay in the car which controls the fuel pump..

which i hear is a common problem.. any thoughts?

Try this, its common on the accords previous of this body style and may be something starting to come up on these ones as well.

While crakning the engine over, hit the bottom of your dash near your left knee area.If it starts, then you need a new fuel pump relay. Its under the dash by your left knee near the other fuses and such.Kinda a tight area to work in if it needs replaced.

this car has a main relay that controls the ecu as well as fuel pump i know..
thanks for the tip. but dont you think the car would react a little differntly if the ecu wasnt getting power as well..?

and bitter - what is WOT?

-wide open throttle.. why woudl that make sense?

I have seen it on many hondas tho.And even if it does control power to the ecu, that wont stop it from cranking or getting spark. Those are both seprate systems from the ecu.You will still get spark when cranking bc thats not controlled by the ecu soley and its still a mechanically driven device on the f22/f23 engines.

hm aright thanks.. ill give the car a shot later...

btw this is a v6. i forgot to mention that..

and someone was telling me about the I4 engines having a problem with the spark plugs and that plugs 1 and 4 get covered in oil often and you have to clean them off occasionally....
im not sure of the credibility of that statement.. but i was wondering if so... is there a similar case with the v6s? if anyone HAPPENS to know..

hmm alright well the car has no spark. its official.
the spark plugs were drenched in fuel.

i wonder where the problem is... or how far back from the ignition coil...
any ideas on testing.. the plug that powers the ignition coil is insanely difficult to get off.. so ill be trying again later...
