How to Identify Intake Gasket Leak

I recently purchased an 03 Corolla CE. Living in Winnipeg means that I experience cold temps up to -30F. My car has the idle hunting issue and I have had TSB 2754 done. The cold idle is now better but still not ideal as the RPM's are very high and when they do finally drop, the car begins to sputter a little bit. From the reading I've done on this website I would guess that my intake gasket is leaking. How can I confirm this before I go and replace it? I've read about other members spraying around the bottom of the manifold. What are you guys spraying to find these leaks?

I would conservatively spray some brake cleaner where the intake manifold mounts to the head while the engine is running and see if the problem goes away. If it does then the intake manifols gaskets are bad or the intake manifold is warped. Use caution when doing this as the cleaner is flammable. Another culprit could be the idle air control valve, it could be bad or gummed up with carbon. I would first remove it and try cleaning it first as this part is not cheap.
