I would conservatively spray some brake cleaner where the intake manifold mounts to the head while the engine is running and see if the problem goes away. If it does then the intake manifols gaskets are bad or the intake manifold is warped. Use caution when doing this as the cleaner is flammable. Another culprit could be the idle air control valve, it could be bad or gummed up with carbon. I would first remove it and try cleaning it first as this part is not cheap.
