USA 120 Km/hr Speed Buzzer

2007 Corolla, standard shift. How do I disable the buzzer that sounds over 120 Km/hr? ANY information is welcome (buzzer location, wire color/location, anything) Thanks in advance

Interesting

I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla Sport and I've had my car to 190km but never heard a sound.

Never heard a buzzer at that speed. I've driven my '07 LE standard shift to about 80 mph (about 130 kph), and no buzz.

Did you buy the car new or used? Anything plugged into the ODBII port? Where do you here the buzzing? Under then dash?

USA

Car was purchased new in Saudi Arabia, it is a normal function for Corollas (all Toyotas) sold in this country, I did contact a local Toyota dealer but they would not disable it (guess it is a safety feature). Corollas of different years (over here) have the same buzzer, some automatically turn off after a few seconds while others (like mine) continue to sound over 120 Km/hr. I have been told if I cut (cutting the wires Without adding some form of resistance back into circuit) the wires (if I could find them) would cause other problems in the electrical system. Thanks again for all help.

i highly HIGHLY doubt that snipping the wires to the buzzer will have an effect at all. i think its just somethign they say to scare you.

it would just mean you have an open circuit somewhere.. just cut it and cap the live end.
youll be alright.

good luck

The best bet would be to identify where the buzzer is. Then you can easily cut the buzzer out, and if you absolutely have to, install it back into the circuit.
