One of the LED lights inside is busted and I want to replace it. I was able to pull out the top portion of the cover but didn't want to force the bottom part out for fear of breaking it. I could touch the busted LED light but couldn't pull it out.

Is the bottom part attached by a clip? How do I take the whole cover out to gain access to the busted LED? Btw, I have the '03 Corolla LE.

You have to remove the trim piece around the shifter. Do that and you will uncover 2 screws that hold the bottom of the HVAC cluster/storage compartments in place.
