UK How to access inside of bumper

Hi I recently purchased a 2006 Corolla. A few days ago someone put a small dent in the front side over the passenger side wheel well, its easily accessible if I reach in so I can just push it out, only thing is there appears to be some kind of shield in place. Held by rivets of some sort..

I'd like to reach inside and push outwards to get the bump out, how do I remove the protective inner in order to do this...

Tried the youtube method of heating witha hair dryer then applying compressed air using an upside down air duster... Didn't work...

You didn't say which bumper, I believe you have to take the bumper covers off to get at it instead of working from the inside out, the front looks easier to get off then the back and it's not made of metal so I don't know if a small dent will push/pop out like a larger one would without leaving a mark especially if it has a crease in it, I have a removal blow up of the front/rear bumper covers that I can put on this evening for you if you want or send you a PM with it

Unhappy I meant front side over wheel well

Sorry, I meant the front passenger side, over the wheel well... Don't know the term... Not bumper..

Its metal, and its inaccessible because there's a plastic guard preventing access to the metal...

Sorry...My mind is just all over the place today...

To get that off, go under your front bumper, find a few black plastic clips, along with a screw if you have the S trim. Its holding your splash guard on, take those off and the splash guard is one big peice, it goes all the way up your wheel well, so you can pull it to the side and get under there. You will probably have to take your wheel off to pull it out far enough. Its plastic so its flexible, I can post pics if you need them.

Thats your fender and it's made of metal, you can easily access the whole inside of it by removing the wheel liner/surround, the black plastic thing that keeps the road slop from getting up into your fender well, there are some screws and clips that hold it on but not that hard to get off, you might have to take your tire off to get it off right and get access to the dent anyway, I might have a blow up of that too, I'll check!

A snow shovel fell and hit my same fender a few weeks ago leaving a nice penny sized dent and I tried that blower/air trick and it didn't work either, but there was a screw on the shovel handle hit it directly and broke the paint so if I did pop it out it would still be noticeable, the ding man here wanted $200 to fix it, I can get a new fender for $120, not painted though!

Thanks for that! Its a real help... I'll give it a shot later today.

As it seems you have such a new Corolla ie 08, sounds like it might be worth just paying the $200 if he can guarantee to get it looking like new... Won't it come to the same price if you buy that unpainted fender, respray, etc... and spend all that time... And money on paint, clearcoat etc..

Prices are crazy here in the UK too... c$100 to remove a just a dent, more for paint work...
