2005 Corolla Window Regulator Failure.

I recently had my driver side window regulator fail.

The situation is thus:

I was rolling my window back up in extreme cold (-31F) upon reaching to top I heard a loud THUD as it became apparent the window had loosened from some sort of closing mechanism. I rolled it down and bit then up again and heard another thud. It was at this time it became apparent that the window was now moving free and I was forced to duct tape it shut.

Upon removing the door panel at a later date I was able to inspect the damage. I noticed that two mechano arms were attached to the glass but were moving free down below allowing for the window to be removed in its entirety.

My question is is this a user repairable situation? Does something need to be snapped into place or does the entire regulator need to be replaced?

I havent much time to look at this as it is very cold and I am without a garage. So I am relying on internet expertise.

Thanks!

APRIL 2008 -- Toyota is recalling 662,178 MY 2003-2004 Corolla, Corolla Matrix and Pontiac Vibe vehicles equipped with power windows. The driver and front passenger door glass bolts may loosen and come off, causing the door glass to separate from the window regulator. Due to the components becoming loose and possibly rattling, an abnormal noise may be heard from the driver and/or front passenger door when operating the power windows. The door glass may separate from the window regulator, bind and shatter during operation of the power windows, causing driver distraction and/or injury. Dealers will replace the driver and front passenger door glass bolts with newly designed bolts free of charge. The recall is expected to begin during May 2008. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-888-270-9371. This recall was the subject of an Engineering Analysis, EA08-004, conducted by the Office of Defects Investigation. 08V162

I hope this helps.
